Hi my name is Robbie and I Repo cars and I run into a problem today. I was looking for a 1981 Ford F-100 Truck. I found a Ford F-100 Truck and it was the same color as I was looking for and I went to the truck to check the VIN# and there was no VIN#. So I took the Licence plate # and went to the local P.D.S. and asked them to run it for me and let me know if it comes back to the person that I had on the repo paper. They told me that ther could not release that information to me. So I left there and went to the car lot and told the car lot man that there was not VIN# that could be located anywhere on the truck. He told me to take the key and go to the truck and if it starts the truck to take it that it was his truck. So that is what I did and come to find out that the truck that I took was not the truck that I was looking for. It came back to be a 1970 Ford F-100. Now the owners of the truck want to press charges on me for stealing there truck. I returned there truck lastnight when all this happend and they still want to press charges. Can you give me some advice and some information on where I can find the laws on Reposession here in North Carolina?
Thank you very much.
