The equity in our home is way over $75,000. We did 'homestead' our home when we bought it. Are you saying they can actually force you to sell your home to pay a debt of $6000?

So, this 'law firm' is actually a CA? We were served with papers, and the judgement was awarded to the 'law firm/CA' - I have copies of the filed judgement on record. We did not appear in court.

Do you know about the CA laws regarding bank account grabbing? Can they do this if they already have a lien against your home?

Frankly, I just want to pay this off - and would like to keep sending payments. They have stated they would file a 'satisfaction of lien' when the payments are complete. What is your opinion about sending the lesser amount - $150 instead of the $300? My husband does not know anything about this - he is very ill - and I am trying to handle it myself. I know this may be a major mistake - but, it is the only way I can deal with this right now. Any more advise/answers would be appreciated. Thank you
