thank you so much for your replies! so my best bet is to change my bank account (needed to do that anyway since it is still joint with my ex) and then just wait things out? and medical debts are all 4 years? in any state? just want to clear up that wv is indeed 4 years since i haven't seen anything about medical debts specifically.

bankruptcy isn't something i should attempt or consider at this point? should i still get credit reports and verify when my sol's will run out? or is it worth even bothering with? i don't believe any credit card alone carries a debt more than about 5k (although if they continue racking up fees and interest, it could be more by now).

sorry to be a pita, but one more question--i know at least some of the ca's know where i work because in prior dealings, i had no idea i didn't have to talk to them and i REALLY didn't know it was a bad idea! i tried making arrangements and my employment info was something they told me they needed (as well as what my earnings were). anything i can do about that without having to go through my employer?
