Possible SOL account - need info

My husband just received a "settlement" letter from Asset Acceptance on an account we believe is past the SOL. The OC however is no longer in business. How do we find the SOL date?
Also, he disputed this with the CRA & he got them to delete the OC account but they won't take off the same acct. listed under Asset. They said it was "updated" information. What now? Thanks!
