I am happy to have found this very informative forum. After reading the messages posted on this page I, too, have a question regarding checking and savings accounts. How do creditors get your banking information? I was in the business of collecting on Visa and MC accounts over 20 years ago. I was one of the nice collectors. Honest! I know we had to go through alot just to get a credit report then. Bank information was never available. It isn't listed on credit reports. Do they have the ability to run your social security number to find these accounts? Or, is it simple information gathering from old payments made?
