This is just my two cents, but since I have had a recent legal scuffle with these idiots (and won) my advise would be to ignore them. It sounds like you may be close to the end of the SOL. And the fact that the alleged debt has changed hands several times and finally ended up with MCM is indicative of a debt far beyond the SOL.

MCM won't have ANY documentation tying you or anyone else to that alleged debt. They never do for old debts, particularly if they're a tertiary purchaser. If you think it is past the SOL, send them WhyChat's SOL letter. If you're not sure, check your old credit reports to see if you can track down a date.
