Responsibility to Pay and a Billing Error

I have a hospital bill that is overcharging me. I have been going in circles trying to get them to correct it. They agree I was overcharged, they just haven't corrected the bill. I am finally putting this in writing and mailing them a letter.

I haven't paid a dime, yet; waiting for them to send a corrected bill. A lady from the in-house collection department called wanting me to pay the amount that is not in dispute.

I am not opposed to the idea, but I'm not sure if this is a good idea. I don't want to waive any rights or lose any leverage. Any thoughts? Thanks!
