Not older than me. Are these debts individual or joint? Do you own a home? When was the last time you paid the original creditors (you have to look at each one individually) before the accounts became deliquent? Actually, I was in a similar siutation, and about your age too. Have an accident. I stopped paying on 13 cards, bank cards, store cards, gas cards, you name it!! My strategy was to ignore CAs. I actually put my machine on fax for awhile during the worst of it. CAs lie and threaten, it is the way they do business. SOL in N.C. for credit cards is 3 years. I was actually sued by one CA, just before the SOL ran. I filed bk at that time. I guess I have to say that you probably need to look at filing bk. By the way, my son went to ASU in Boone.
