Fight back. They are counting on a default judgment. Make them prove their case. Most likely, they will not be able to do it. They usually don't even have any proof other than numbers on a computer printout.

Spend a little now, and save a lot later.

Why does it cost you money to defend yourself in court? Can you file indigent and have them not charge you>
