I just appeared last week in NC for a summary judgement hearing. I went simply because I felt like I should -- I was not contesting the debt at all. I did offer $1500 to settle the debt (which is $5800 plus interest plus attorney's fees). The attorney for my debtor (Citibank) said he was obligated to take that back to Citibank to see if they would accept. In the meantime the judgement has been entered against me until attorneys find out if Citibank will accept my offer. We'll see if they do......
