Since it is a loan, it is a written contract and the SOL for written contracts apply. If it is a student loan that is federally backed, there are no statute of limitations and it will stay on your credit report till paid. If it is just a tuition bill, it might fall under written contract or the UCC for goods and services. YOu will have to contact a consumer attorney from Texas to find out how the state considers that type of bill.
