New credit cards with a bad rating?

Color me clueless. I haven't had a credit card in 5 1/2 years since my BK. Long time, right?? Have I been a good boy? Well I have! But have people been good to me?? Nope! Its the old 'kick em while they are down' syndrome. I managed to buy a new house since the BK but got charged a nasty interest rate and had to pay a pile of money up front.... I paid on time for 3 years (they tried to dispute that and claimed two months were late to try and get extra payments out of me.... I complained to the State and BBB and they were 'supposed' to remove those fake late reports off my report.) Then I refinanced and got a lower interest rate elsewhere.... Good right? Well after that I tried to get a home equity loan. Been turned down 3 times because my credit rating is still too ugly even though I'm sitting on a pile of equity in the shack now. I've got an old default student loan on there that is almost paid off. They take my tax refund every year so they have a judgement against me. Oh, lets see... I'm getting nasty calls from collection agencies because my last employers insurance company refused to pay the bill when I went to THEIR authorized doctor. Hey, I ain't paying it!! It was a insurance authorized visit and its their duty to pay it now! And I've been laid off twice in 3 years and been out of work extensively so I'm behind on my current mortgage. I'm paying the 'current' payment on the 30th of the month instead of the 1st of the month....and paying their late fee every month for the priveledge of being 30 days late. The mortgage company is calling me almost daily to harass me to get caught up. As soon as I plant that money tree in my front yard I'll be right there. So my question is... is it possible to get a credit card? (surely there must be some loan sharks out there that would love me. ) who do I get a card from and how?? And how badly am I going to be ripped off since my credit rating is still bad?? I haven't hit that magical 7 year mark from the BK yet. I can't get one of those secured cards cuz I don't have a dime.... I'm too busy trying to get caught up and get the mortgage co off my back. Some one told me to apply for all the companies I decide to apply to within a 10 day period so it will only be 'one' hit on my credit report but if I go over the 10 day mark the credit inquiries they make counts more against me. What about that? I realize I ain't gonna get a good deal but I want to know who the real baddies are so I can avoid them. Its been so long since I've had a card that I don't even know who all the players are in the industry.
