What state are you in? I think I would look at your state garnishment laws, 25% of net is typical and offer that. Divide it by two. If they sue and get a judgement, they won't get more, and one will have to wait in line for the other if they want to go that route. Just graduating from nursing school I assume you do not own a home or have seizable assets just yet. Make the offer, if they don't want it, tell them to go pound sand. DON'T LET THEM GET YOUR BANKING INFO. Pay with a money order, or use a checking account for that purpose only with very little money in it.
