I believe the easier solution would be to write to the three major CRA's and tell them you have paid this account in full and please remove the derogatory marks...they will validate through the creditor and change it..I did this with a Best Buy card I had paid off and they werent updating the credit report..once I wrote to Experian and others it was off within a couple weeks...you can do this online and they will email you when the dispute is settled.
