I have seen judges get very angry with lawyers for cas when the defendant shows up and shows the judge - they have been paying what they can or there was an agreement- they were paying- and got sued anyway.

Often the judge will allow for small payments and withhold adjudication (no judgment) as long as the payments are made on time.

Could be a bluff to get you to "find" the money .
