If within SOL, contest the suit. Do not admit or deny the debt. Answer each of the Plaintiff's counts by claiming you "Lack Knowledge". Let them prove their case. Many times this will send a CA off in search of easier targets.
If beyond SOL, these bugs have filed a time-barred suit. You can countersue if you desire. Absolutely file FTC complaint, cc to your state AG. File Motion to Dismiss, SOL, along with your answer.
Admit nothing. Make the punks put their so-called legal abilities where their big, fat, stupid mouths are located. Generally, just below their ample waistlines, on the posterior side of the human anatomy. Nail them.
