The SOL for TX is FOUR YEARS, so the SOL expired LAST YEAR!!!

This is an uncollectable debt, as is MOST of MCM's portfolio.

I have sucessfully defended myself against MCM on an out-of-statute account they sued me for, for which I probably could have won even if it hadn't been outside the SOL.

They cannot freeze your account UNLESS they get a default judgment against you or file a motion to do so with the court AFTER filing suit. For the amount that they are claiming, that is not likely to happen.

Do as you see fit, but you legally owe them NOTHING. If they file suit and you follow Why Chat's instructions on how to answer a lawsuit beyond the SOL, you *will* win. Paying them just because you think they will freeze your account is playing right into their hands.
