whychats links discuss it. basically, it prevents info from being sold to scum CAs...and prevents those crap card offers in the mail. look at the soft pulls on your credit..many companies buy your info from the CRAs. check whychats links to it..prolly explain it better than me. the scum will look at your report...see a CO and make a offer to the OC. without seeing it..they wouldnt know its there and haunt you way after SOL.
