Can people who do not live in Texas file a complaint also against Cross Country? My husband bought into Cross Country's "offer" in 1997 while living in WV (now in NC)...$200 limit. Same story as your post with origination fee, an annual fee and other charges that consumed half or more of a his credit line. He wasn't aware of these charges, and it very quickly exceeded his limit, which results in additional fees. It was charged off, it is now listed on his credit report as Cross Country $433, NCO $553, and now has been placed with Powell, Rogers & Speaks for $563?!?! They have called and have gotten nasty just this week. First delinquency was 7/98. How does he/we handle SOL with it being listed by all three of them on his credit report? And how exactly do we dispute all of this with the CRA? Thanks for any help!
