Paid and unpaid charge off are equally damaging to the credit report. Paying the repo is not going to help your credit either. Best thing you two can do is start over. You might want to consider bk, believe it or not, bk is a fresh start and you can start to rebuild credit almost immediately. Otherwise,you will be dealing with CAs for a long time to come. Just my 2 cents.
