Foreclosure/Can they come after me?

I left my husband & house in MD and moved here to FL. He proceded to default (I had no clue) and the house was reported foreclosed in March 2000, but I was never really notified. Seems they sent a notice to me c/o him and he signed for it ... even though my address was current w/all CRAs. So now it's 4 years later & the foreclosure is still on my CRs. If I challenge it, will they come after me? Or should I put up with it for another 3 years? (My ex said he never heard from the mortgage company again.)
