I do not knw what kind of "validation" letter you sent before, or if you sent it CRRR, dd you also DISPUTE the account? I suggest you Opt Out, send the letter linked below, file an ID theft report with the FTC, file an ID theft report with the Tx AG office,AND file a complaint against ER with the FTC and the Tx AG office for violations of the FDCPA and the Tx Consumer Credit Laws. I do not think it neccessary to file police report, unless there are OTHER errors on your reports which indicate an ongoing ID theft problem.
