If you ever paid the original creditor or the CA with that checking account, then yes, it's best that you close it. But there's no point in hiding your car unless you are behind on the car payments and are afraid of it being repo'd, and even in that case it's only a matter of time. But if you're afraid that CACV will get it, there's no point. They can't do anything with your car unless they get a judgment first. And you can't hide the car from an asset search if it's registered in your name. Finally, if they do get a judgment, you'll be forced to disclose its existance under oath by the court.
