It all depends on what type of job you have. Even though there are laws that prohibit such type of actions from your employer, there are, in some cases, policies enforced that contradict the laws, i.e. IF you are licensed by the SEC to sell buy and sell stock, mutual funds or annunities, you can not have a wage garnishment. Most of the time, when an employer eforces strict financial responsiblity of their employees, it is in the area of financial services. The way they look at it is.....IF you can't manage your own financial affairs, then you can't manage someone else's fiances.
