MBNA accounts permanently closed 2000 by MBNA - balance to be paid at fixed interest rate, fixed payment amounts & fixed payment date. Recent notices from MBNA of very high interest increases. Your advice was to send letter asking if these changes conformed with VA statutes, Consumer Credit Laws and the TILA. Sent letter. Their answer today was repeat of same as on notice sent for "open" accounts - review of credit report and Federal Equal Credit Opportunity Act and nothing else. They did not address anything I requested. Should I send another letter asking them to specifically answer my questions? Also the person that sent letter was from their Customer Marketing Dept. Thank you for everything.
