Without Prejudice?

I am dealing with Allied Interstate for an old AT&T Wireless bill. The amount is only $73.56. Rather than fight it, I just wrote a check and sent it to them because it's so small. I am not sure exactly how old this debt is. I remember it (it was valid to AT&T but it's not listed on my credit report that I can see. However, I'd like to keep it off there.

I wrote an endorsement guarantee on the back of the check "Endorsement guarantees full payment of account #.....". Anyway, they actually endorsed it, then stamped "Without Prejudice" on the front and sent it back to me with a form letter that states "Restricted endorsement on back of check. Please resend new check".

I am not about to send anyone a check for something like this without some guarantee of full payment. Their refusal of payment because of an endorsement guarantee shows what kind of dishonest scum these people are.

Now, what can I do to make them go away forever and not have it show on my CR?
