Thank You, Boadicea for helping me understand this as it has been quite confusing for me.
For example: 5 1/2 years ago the CC open account in question became 180+ days late. On my current (12/2003) credit reports; one CRA lists account as chargeoff 1998, the other two CRA's list account as 150+ days late for 3 consequtive months in early 1999. I received collection letters from an OC "affiliate" during that time. After some months of letters, i called the OC and said I would send more payments, which I did. The OC called this "Reage" and i got late fees for many months and intermitently after that. The OC statements Never listed "past due" amounts during the whole course. They consistently raised the interest rate to 27%. I was never able to charge credit again on this account. After two years of "bare minimum" payments, the account became 180+ days late and chargedoff the 2nd time. The 2 CRA's that listed the earlier 150+ days late, list the 2nd late period as "150+ days late and chargeoff".
As I stated before, I never signed any reage agreement of any sort with the OC.
Which chargeoff SOL would apply concerning current CA's?
The account changed "OC hands" shortly before the 2nd chargeoff, if that has any bearing, and I was only notified of an OC "name change". I believe that current CA's are assigned by the 2nd OC for the last two years.
Thank you again for your input...
