i did a voluntary repo about a year and a half ago and the left over balance was fifteen thousand five hundred and something. the only payments they would accept that we could afford was 300.00 a month but they said that they would close the account and write it as a charge off and keep the debt in house so we could pay it and avoid collections. i have been paying faithfully since this happened and now i am being told that we are not really obligated to pay this since it is listed as a charge off on our credit and since they used it as a tax write off is this true and if so where could i find it in writing. thank you and please help
