Two years ago a non operational car (registered to me) was towed away and presumably sold by the tow company after I failed to acnowledge them. Now i have a collection agency asking for over $1000. The vehicle in question was not worth even $500. Is there anything i can do (other than paying them). the reason i ask, is that i have had this happen in the past and i never got a bad mark on my credit report because of it
