So in this persons situation what does he or she do? This is what I dont understand? I know that having a paid collection with credit score is worthless, but when you want to buy a house you will need all your accounts to be paid. Say you had a 5k debt and it was sold to CA and you got them to settle for 2k (even though they prob bought it for 200) and you get them to fully delete their trademark, and you get it in writing that the debt will not be sold to anyone else. Is it then worth it. If not what are you supposed to do hope that it drops off in seven years? Isnt it better to pay them a pittance get stuff in writing and then hope you can at least dispute the stuff down the road to get it off the CR? Seriously it just seems like a no win situation! Just my two cents
