True Cat, they can TRY to collect forever. Hopefully though, most people will be aware of the SOL (the time for legal recourse) and tell them to go pound sand. AND, if they get a judgement by default after the SOL, you have an affirmative defense and can have the judgement vacated based on that. Once the SOL passes, it's got to be a very small percentage that pay. BUT, I know it is in the millions of dollars. Hey if they can get a payment or two out of everybody, they are way ahead considerting they buy these old accoutns for practically nothing.
