Old debt, Collectors and Judgement...

The last time any payments were made on my credit cards was in Oct of 2000 at that time my husband and I had had to file bankruptcy to try to avoid a default judgement but I lost my job and even the bankruptcy was discharged due to default. Since then I hadnt really heard anything from any of my creditors but today I recieved a call from the cc company who was suing for the judgement. The company is from South Dakota, I live in Texas I know the SOL for collecting on debt here is 4 years is that from the time which I made the payment on the bankruptcy? I also know that the debt should be removed from my Credit report in 7 years from the last payment but does that mean the last payment I made or when some of the debts were sold to new collections agencies? Any help is much appreciated Thanks
