I have loans that I stopped paying and went to collections in 99 and 00. So far no one has threatened to sue or anything. But it does hurt my credit, and I do get creditor phone calls that I just don't answer and since they don't leave a message, I don't worry about it. Is that ok? Should I try to pay them off, or just wait until the SOL? If so, is it the SOL for TN or TX that applies? And then, when will they drop off my credit so that I can have good credit again? Should I contact a lawyer?
