Thanks for all of your advice. Great idea to opt out,I mailed those requests today.
I spoke with the mortgage company today and they want me to call Progressive Asset to find out what it's for. At first, I thought "no way", but then I'm thinking that this is a collection from a creditor that has already written it off and Progressive just bought it and has now re-aged it to show aa account open date of 3/03. The actual date of last activity is 11/97. So I'm thinking that if Progressive Asset had substantial "proof" of this account(something that would hold up in a lawsuit), that they would have already filed one. Basically, I'm just trying to figure out the best way to handle this. We could put our house plans on hold and wait it out five months and then go after Progressive for re-aging the account or I can contact Progressive directly and hope they have to remove it due to lack of proof or dispute it as obsolete with the CRA's.

Any suggestions on the best was to pursue this?

Thank you!!
