You aren't in trouble. They are. California protects citizens from gasoff cowflop lawfirms like the one bothering you. Your disability income can't be touched. The debt is SOL. If they are so stupid as to file suit, you can countersue and get a judgement against them on SOL grounds. Don't talk to them, hang up. They want you to co-sign their bullshale. Don't. Without your cooperation, their case is in the toilet. Along with their ethics.
File a complaint right away with the State of California, they have their own state version of the FTC, who should be your next stop on the complaint trail. Notify the California Bar Association also, collection lawyers aren't quite as popular with brother lawyers as they are here in the Florida Killing Fields. Nail these dirtballs to the courthouse latrine. Make them understand that the sanctity of your home is never to be disturbed by their scurvy ilk.
