The system is rigged. Go in with the understanding that this is not classical Greek wrestling, but Vince McMahon WWF wrestling. So don’t be surprised when your opponent throws salt in your eyes.

Credit scores and collections aren’t meant to demonstrate your creditworthiness or to recoup any substantial money for the original creditors. It is all designed to PREVENT losses in the first place. They conspire to make credit purgatory such a horror that the survivors will come back and tell the damned to never get into it in the first place. Rob Peter to pay Paul before you ever let an account charge off lest you wind up in credit and collections hell.

Illegal, nonstop, harassing collections along with trashed credit reports never gets them much money back anyway, but it serves as a good deterrent to prevent people from letting accounts get to that stage. Sell the baby’s crib before you ever have the temerity to miss a Cap 1 payment is their general goal.

Your post could actually be construed as being helpful to the likes of Cap 1. Some young mother could very well be watering down the baby’s Enfamil right now so she can send out her late payment fees including her penalty interest to Cap 1 in order to not have that account charge off.
