If your late husband's estate was probated, his creditors should have been notified of his death so that they could have put in a claim on the estate. If there was no probated estate, then whomever was his administrator should have notified his creditors that he passed away with no assets in the estate.

I would be VERY careful about assuming you had no liability as an authorized user if his debts were substantial and you have transferred any assets, (including your house), unless you had proper legal advice on the matter.

If any of his charges, (including any you made AFTER his death) could be attributed to "neccessary" expenses, such as medical bills or funeral expenses, you MAY be subject to the "doctrain of neccessaries".

In most circumstances, you would not be liable for debts on any credit cards you were only an authorized user on, provided you did not continue to charge anything after his death.
