Is this credit card debt? Is this the total owed on multiple cards? They can't do anything without filing suit. Answer the suit and you reduce their chance of getting a judgement, let alone filing a lien of taking your car.
How old is the debt? SOL in FL four years, though lowlife CA's will tell the court it's five. What else is new? They lie in hope of coercing money out of people.

Your car is of no interest to these gnats, even if they get a judgement. Your home is protected by the Homestead act, if you declare it as your residence.
