Ok, you're NOT in a community property state, so I do believe they are clearly out of luck. If you didn't have to go through probate, then there was never an estate for them to make a claim against.

Send them a cease and desist letter stating that there was no estate. If they continue to harrass you, then get an attorney. A nice attorney letter reminding them of the law will set them packing.
