My husband recieved a letter in the main recently from a Camco, a capital aquisition and management company. I didn't recognize the account number listed and we don't have a Citibank account with $10, 800 on it. The letter asked that he call to discuss the deliquant account.

I called today to find out what it was and they indicated that they recently purchased the charged off account (charged off in 1990) and wanted to know what I was going to do to settle it.

My husband stopped paying the account due to being out of work in the early 1990's. We have not heard word one on this account since he stopped paying and now out of the blue this company is colecting.

My question is can they re-report this item on his credit report and is there a statute of limitations for them to take any civil action on this?

Thanks in advance for your help.
