This should not appear on your credit report. If Scumco places it there, contest it with the CRA and sue Scumco. Call the FTC tomorrow morning and file complaint about this sleazebag gang of mutant bloated-tick pirates. They have no business even calling you about this long-past SOL debt.
Scumco is a regular topic on this board, not a pretty one. Scumco is larcenous, stupid, vile, dishonest, in other words, they are 'collections professionals'. Check out edcombs.com, the Illinois law firm is reportedly suing these dumpy-winged heaps of pig-droppings. Their always-out-of-bounds practices attracted the interest of regulatory agencies and private lawyers as well who wish to do them harm by all legal methods available.
These boorish, syphillitic thugs invaded the sanctity of your home with their illegal threats. Why not send them some pain today? Call FTC, the BBB, your state AG. Safe, gentle, proven effective. Fun the whole family can enjoy during early summer's warmth. Make these rat-scabies blood-flecked vomit-chunks regret they called you. There is no reason, ever, to pay a collector one penny. Period, end of story. The money doesn't pay back the Original Creditor. It disappears down CA rat-holes. It pays for collector's black neoprene 'love suits', their crack-addict mistresses and gigolos, and the hourly rentals of 'four-hundred pound gorillas clad in hip-boots and panties' who inflict pain, so as to allow them to feel some dim twitches of humanity. These are criminals. You wouldn't give the neighborhood punks your car keys and safe combination. Never give these sleazoids your money. Money sent them by those least able to do so finds its way to criminal gangs both domestic and foreign. Money laundering is a specialty of CA's. Why aid and abet an ongoing criminal conspiracy? The money sent them pays for comfort-laddies from the Far East Kabana Kourt of Palm Beach County. It pays for water beds filled with ether at the Shangri-lodge Tropicana Motel in East L.A. It pays for heroin-laced punch made from rot-ghut whisky and Lestoil (tm), the beverage of choice of greasze-wigged polyester-suited, gas-haired, B.O. reeking collection lawyers and their penicillin challenged 'secretaries'.
