What state are you in and when was the last time you paid the original creditor before the account became deliquent? And, what makes you think paying them anything will benefit you in anyway. IT WON'T! Sounds like this accounts is past the SOL, they paid pennies on the dollar for this account. They will promise you anything to extract money from you. Most likely will not follow thru with their promises and will sell the remained of the debt to another CA and the process will start all over again. If you pay them one dime, you will start a feeding freenzy.
