Pa. is a non garnishment state. They can not garnish your salary. The SOL in Pa. is 4 years, so you have a while to go. If you don't own property,(house) or even if you do (tenants by the entirety here) they can't do anything legally to collect from you. CAs lie and threaten, that is the way they do business. The only thing I would suggest is that you protect your banking info. If you ever paid the original creditor with your current checking account, they have your banking info. Open a new account in a different bank with your boyfriend as primary. If he is receiving disability payments, they are exempt from bank seizure. They can't take your salary directly from you paycheck, but if your money goes into the bank, they can get to it. You said you were sued. Were you properly served according to Pa law? Did you look at the link I gave you? I believe Why Chat gave you info on what to do. Follow his advice.
