Problem is you can't trust a Collection Agent. They may settle on a low ball figure, but that won't be the last of them. You can try getting everythng in writing BEFORE you give them any money. Be prepared to be harrassed BIG TIME. If they know you have some money they will think they are entitled to have the most of it. Just my 2 cents. I would not pay a CA.
