Is this within SOL? The burden of proof is on them. They must prove that the debt is yours, that all charges are accurate and legal in your state. Don't let them get a default judgement. It is ALWAYS a good idea to get an attorney if you can. If you have other debts, you might want to consider bankrupcy too. Take a look at your assets, what can they seize, or not.....are you judgement proof? What state are you in?
