1990-ish Judgement/Garnishment - current harrassment

I had a default judgement entered against me back in 1989/91 time frame. I had moved and never got any of the paperwork until I had money garnished as a result... It's been nearly 13 years and now I'm getting a letter saying I still owe. I'd have fought the judgement originally since it was from charges at a store where they allowed a roomate to use my account - without my permission. Since I didn't know about the court paperwork or the charges until the garnishment, I was sunk. Having no money and since they garnished what they wanted, i figured it was done and over. Now all these years later TCM is coming after me... and I'm in no mood or position to pay this debt a second time, yet because of more moves back then, have no idea where the paperwork is. The temp agency I worked for is long gone... Do they file court papers when they garnish? Help? Thanks!
