If you have good credit, they are poisoning your CR. Just one of the nasty tricks they like to pull with people who are on the right trac with their credit after a hard time. I do believe that this is illegal. What state are you in? When was the last time you paid the original creditor before the account became deliquent. Are they trying to collect on somethng that is possibly passed the SOL?
