The scam scum CA's use the telephone as a weapon to harrass, frighten and intimidate, here are some suggestions to stop them.

Get an answering machine to screen all your calls. Tape any harrassing calls onto a regular tape recorder, making sure the recorder gets the date and time as well as the message.

Check my website to see what the laws are for taping in your State. Remember, a message left on an answering machine does NOT require "permission" to retape and use in Court.

If you are in a 1 party State and are returning a call to a CA ( you really shouldn't do that at all, but if you MUST,record the conversation)you can tape WITHOUT permission, BUT make sure you know what State you are calling to, or find out and SAY it during the conversation, i.e. I know you are in Minn. how's the weather? or-- I don't know where you are, are you in India or the Phillipines?, this will allow you to determine if you can USE the tape in Court or not.

Of course, if the party answering has a recording that says "this conversation may be taped" you can CERTAINLY use the tape in Court.

If the CA calling you is a FLAGRANT violator of the law, threatening you etc. etc. You CAN tape without permission,as it is a criminal offense and there is NO "taping" privacy for thieving bums.

Once you have the CA on tape, you can say" please speak clearly and give your full name, as this tape recording will be used for my filed complaints and civil actions against you and your Company"

Here is a link to more ideas.
