Do you owe the debt? If you don't want the card, why don't you call them to make an arangement to pay the debt without the card?

Also, does SOL mean you don't have to pay it? No. It just means they can't seek legal means to collect on it. SOL doesn't decide if the debt is collectable or not.

The card helps you establish credit, if you don't need to establish credit, don't get it, put pay the bill if you owe it and are able to do so.
