CatB sounds a bit disgruntled with the medical system in Texas. There are government agencies to help you get Medicaid and almost every state has a program to get free medical coverage for children, here in Illinois it's called Kidcare. There are clinics that charge on a sliding scale. The help is out there you just need to do the calling. There is help out there so don't put blame on America, put blame on the people who do not seek out these programs. I used to be on WIC, I worked for years, paid my taxes and used it for 6 months.
